Advance driving is basically the next
step, after passing your test and participating in the Pass
Plus scheme, taking you closer to becoming an excellent driver.
The course is based on the Police " System of car control"
as taught at the Scottish Police College and The metropolitan
Police Driving School at Hendon. It is a more in depth system
than the D.S.A system but when learned would enable the driver
to deal with any situation that they might face on the road.
At the same time the candidate would be learning to drive
the car in a safe and smooth manner not being afraid to make
maximum legal progress when the situation allows. The course
would begin with an assessment drive and the lessons would
then be tailored to the candidate's individual requirements.
Tuition can be carried out in pupils’ vehicle or tuition
car.
The training is done on all road types and
covers many scenic parts of Scotland. At the end of the course
the candidate would be qualified to pass either the I.A.M.
or R.O.S.P.A. test.
